You might’ve had to adjust your typical holiday traditions last year—or maybe even cancel them all together. This year, get back in the holiday groove! The Fairfax Festival of Lights is returning for 2021 with its abundance of holiday cheer in Old Town Square. And since the entire event is outside, it should be easy to keep a comfortable distance from other guests.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 4th. The fun kicks off at noon at Old Town Square with a full day’s lineup of live music! Gather beneath twinkling holiday lights in the square and enjoy instrumental holiday hits and caroling, courtesy of local musicians. Warm up with treats such as s’mores and hot apple cider while you sing along! The festive day culminates in the tree lighting ceremony around dusk at 5:30 p.m., at which point the town’s leaders will flip a switch to signal the official start of the holiday season. The 2021 Festival of Lights is free to attend and open to the public, but bring your wallet if you want to do a little holiday shopping while you’re in Old Town!
