StarNut Gourmet has been an integral part of the McLean community for nearly 20 years, but when new owners took over in 2019, the cafe got a much-needed refresh. So if you haven’t visited the local cafe in a while, you’ll notice a more modern interior and a menu of coffee, tea, and artisan bites to match—along with a carefully curated retail section full of gourmet groceries.

International inspiration abounds on the menu. That much is obvious as soon as you look at the breakfast dishes, like the Santorini scramble. Steal away to Greece with every bite of the eggs scrambled with fresh tomato, onion, and feta, all capped off with avocado and complemented by multigrain toast and spinach salad. Prefer a morning getaway to France? The quiche comes stuffed with spinach and gruyere, plus lightly dressed mixed greens on the side. More portable sandwiches and artisan toasts are on the menu, along with parfaits, pastries, and bowls of oatmeal and cereal. The lunch menu features platters and sandwiches that are also inspired by global flavors.
